"Now at last they were beginning chapter one of the great story no one on earth had ever read, which goes on forever, in which every chapter is better than before." - C.S. Lewis
Linzy & Richard were married on a warm Fall evening at the beautiful Windmill House in Prescott, Arizona. This wedding was special to us for many reasons. Linzy and I met while attending middle school in Juneau, Alaska. We spent many years growing up together before life sent us in different directions after high school. We stayed in touch, watching our children grow via Facebook and catching up any time that we happened to be in the same town. Having the opportunity to photograph a wedding for someone you have known most of your life was such a fun experience! On top of that, Prescott, Arizona happens to be where Erik and I met while attending college. The town is full of so many memories of where our own love story began.
One aspect of Linzy & Richards wedding that we admired so much was the décor. Everything was sentimental, vibrant and handmade. For months they poured many hours of love and hard labor into making everything come together, and when it did – it was perfect.
Linzy even got creative with the first look, incorporating a sweet inside joke into the moment. Be sure to see the photos below. She had us cracking up and wiping away tears at the same time.
The Windmill House was a beautiful location for such an occasion. Situated on a private lake with lush lawns and gardens, it was effortless to find great locations for their wedding portraits. Linzy and Richard said their vows at sunset beside the lake in front of several family members and friends. The day radiated love all the way from the beginning up until the last dance.
Thank you, Linzy and Richard for having Erik and I there to document your wedding day. We send you love & best wishes on this wonderful journey as you build your lives together.
