It has been several months since I posted my last blog update. It’s been a busy spring and summer; time has completely gotten away from me!
Before I share any updates, I just want to send a huge thank you to everyone for the continued support. Running this photography business has been a literal dream come true, and I never thought it would get to the point where I am as busy with photography as I am today. I truly have the best clients, and I have enjoyed getting to know each and every one of you. My heart is full and I want you all to know that!
Now onto the blog update…
In June, my family joined my parents and some of our closest family friends on a week-long trip in Cancun, Mexico! This was our family’s first time ever visiting Mexico, and the trip was a year in the making. We arrived at the beautiful Mayan Palace on a Saturday and were instantly upgraded to the brand new Grand Luxxe Jungle for the duration of our stay. After checking in, we had a delicious dinner beachside at Havana Moon and then called it a night.
You guys, the next day was gorgeous. The upgrade to our hotel room allowed us to go anywhere on the property, so we chose to spend the day at The Beach Club. There were private cabanas, personal wait staff, drink service, a gentleman who came to clean our sunglasses (yes, it’s a thing)… you name it… it was perfect. Basically it was exactly how I had been envisioning Cancun, and The Beach Club lived up to it!
Mother Nature had different ideas in mind for the rest of our vacation. The next day we were greeted with a tropical storm that lasted four days. We all made the best of the high winds and the rain by ducking for cover under the covered bars and in restaurants. On the bright side, we were able to spend a lot of quality time together that we do not normally get to have! It had been 9 years since we had all been together, so it was pretty hard to complain!
The last two days of our vacation, the sun decided to come back out and we were able to enjoy some more time at The Beach Club in the cabanas. The break in the rain also gave us the opportunity to continue with our family photoshoot. Erik and I had packed our camera gear and were ready! It was so fun capturing family shots in a completely different environment than we are used to.
Take a look!
