Over the past month I have taken a little bit of time off of photography to focus on the business side of things, and get ready for the busy year we have ahead. This has also allowed me a bit of time to get caught up on blogging, finally!
Courtney & Ian first contacted me to photograph their wedding back in 2016, and I knew this one was going to be extra special. You see, Courtney & Ian have the kind of love story only few can say they have. It is not everyday you meet your future spouse in the sixth grade, become instant best friends, start dating in your junior year of high school and marry several years down the road. I mean, how many of us can say that we found "the one" before we were even old enough to drive? I know there are a handful, but it's still pretty rare! I know it may sound cheesy, but when you see these two together, you know that they were meant to be.
The wedding was held on July 22, 2017 on one Oregon's hottest summer days. I met Courtney and her bridesmaid's at Annastasia Salon in Multnomah Village to capture some getting ready shots, and then quickly took off to meet up with my husband to prepare for the rest of the day! We headed over to McMenamins Grand Lodge to meet up with Ian and his groomsmen. Courtney & her bridesmaids arrived shortly after and went straight to their room to get dressed. Before we knew it it was time for the first look, which you will see how sweet it turned out in the photos below. The way Ian looked at his bride-to-be may or may not have had me wiping my eyes behind the camera.
From there, the whole crew took a rented school bus (yes, a SCHOOL BUS!) over to the ceremony site to prepare for the wedding. Tucked away on a quiet road was the cutest wedding venue, Shively Barn. It could not have been more perfect for Courtney & Ian's country themed wedding, and it even included a Christmas tree farm!
Courtney & Ian exchanged the sweetest vows to one another, and danced the entire night away at their beautiful reception. Erik and I were so honored to be the ones to capture these memories for such a sweet couple. Thank you both so much for having us there - we wish you two a lifetime of love & happiness!
