Happy Fathers Day!
It's hard to even explain how excited I am to finally share this photo shoot with everyone. Back in early April, I reached out to my sister-in-law to see if we could schedule a photo shoot with my twin nephews to celebrate their second birthday. Erin had a better idea though. She suggested that we do a fishing themed photo shoot with the twins as a Fathers Day gift for her husband, dad, and father-in-law. Genius! The only catch was that we would have to figure out how to keep the pictures under-wraps for two months.
There was a lot of secret prep that went into making this photo shoot happen. We even got my mother-in-law involved in the action; she supplied the heirloom fishing poles and tackle boxes. Once all of the Dad's were out fishing, we snuck the kids out to Sauvie Island and spent an hour capturing these adorable images. We then rushed home to hide any evidence ... which we did a good job on for the most part. Erin's husband did ask why there was so much sand in their van though. Oops.
For those of you who know my brother-in-law and father-in-law, you know they are fishing fanatics. There's rarely a weekend where they are not out on the river, so as you can imagine, the fishing theme that Erin chose was a big hit. The fishing poles belonged to my father-in-laws late father, which added additional sentiment to the photos.
I have to say, moments like these are the reason why I am so passionate about photography. It's a gift that will last a lifetime, and to me, there's nothing better than being able to provide that for my clients.
